One of the many MCU films that are currently in the works is Thunderbolts which will team up the fan-favorite supporting characters and villains from past movies and TV shows in the franchise.

After several months of production delay and casting changes, the film is finally set to begin production this March. Most of the plot details also remain under wraps at the moment.

Now, we have a new update on its film as it looks like it will now be arriving in theaters earlier than we expected.

According to Deadline, Marvel Studios has shifted the release of Thunderbolts to an earlier date. It is now set to arrive in theaters on May 2, 2025.

This comes after they also announced that Fantastic Four is now slated to release in theaters on July 25 of that year, which was Thunderbolts' former release date prior to the shift.

Considering that Thunderbolts will begin production first, it makes sense that they changed its release to an earlier date and it is an indication that the MCU team-up film will now be commencing the summer movie season of that year.

Recently, Florence Pugh, who will return as Yelena Belova in the film, revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she was about to fly to Atlanta to begin preparing for the MCU movie.

"It kind of feels like it still might not happen because of the amount of times it has been paused which is a natural feeling, but I'm going straight there after this so when we're done with press [for Dune: Part Two], I'm gonna go to Atlanta and start doing some prep," she said.

Before the Hollywood labor strikes last year when the film was originally set to begin production in the summer of last year, it was slated to release in theaters this year before the massive delay.

Now, with an earlier release date, fans will no longer need to wait longer than they might have anticipated and they can celebrate the beginning of the 2025 summer season with the MCU team.
