In less than a week, The Marvels will finally arrive in theaters and MCU fans have been looking forward to seeing the team-up between Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan, and Monica Rambeau and their cosmic adventure within the galaxy.

However, the marketing for the film has been a huge struggle for Disney as the cast members are currently not allowed to do any promotions as a result of the still-ongoing actors' strike and they rely mostly on trailers and TV spots to hype up the general audience.

There have also been some concerns regarding its box office performance since the early opening weekend projections have been disappointing and test screenings reportedly received "middling" scores.

According to a report from Deadline, the ticket presales for The Marvels are currently lagging behind the recent DCEU releases Black Adam and The Flash and it likely going to be one of the lowest box office openings for an MCU movie.

For reference, Black Adam opened with $67 million when it was released late last year while The Flash had an opening weekend of $55 million earlier this summer. They both ended up becoming box office disappointments overall.

There is no doubt that this is a concerning sign regarding its opening weekend box office and it looks like Disney and Marvel Studios have to brace themselves for disappointing numbers.

It is hard to tell right now why the presales are lagging whether it's superhero fatigue, the current problem with the MCU, or its lack of traditional marketing campaign due to the strike.

It is likely that Disney will try to push harder in the remaining days before its release. It is also possible that the general audience might buy their tickets on the release day and the numbers will end up being decent in the end if word-of-mouth is also good.

Whatever happens by its opening weekend, it could serve as a wake-up call for both Disney and Marvel Studios since it is not a box office performance that they've been accustomed to, especially since it is also coming from a film that has recognized characters.

The Marvels is set to arrive in theaters this November 10.
