In just several weeks, the upcoming film The Marvels is set to finally arrive in theaters, and a lot of fans are looking forward to seeing Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan team up for a cosmic adventure in the MCU.

As the marketing campaign is rolling out, we're starting to hear a lot of details about the film including reports that it will be the shortest MCU movie to date which surprised fans upon hearing it.

Given that we have been accustomed to seeing MCU films that are more than two hours, it feels strange to hear that the Captain Marvel sequel won't be as close to the typical mark, especially since there are three leads that they're going to focus on.

Now, we finally have the word on the film's official runtime and what we've suspected has been right all along.

An official listing from AMC Theaters has confirmed that The Marvels will have a runtime of 1 hour and 45 minutes or 105 minutes.

While it is a little bit higher than the previously reported 98-minute runtime, it still remains the shortest MCU film to date. The Incredible Hulk and Thor: The Dark World previously held the record with 112 minutes each.

Given that most MCU films and even recent tentpole releases have a runtime of around 120 minutes or more, this runtime is a change of pace for the general audience and it suggests that the story will be more tightly-paced than usual.

We will never know until we see it in its entirety whether the shortened runtime feels right for this particular MCU film, but hopefully, they will be able to give equal spotlights to all three heroes despite the tightened pace that we don't usually see on a movie that has multiple characters in the forefront.

The advantage of a shorter runtime is that movie theaters will be able to have multiple screenings per day and maximize their box office potential. As long as the film has good word-of-mouth, it could do well in its numbers.

It's interesting to see what the reception will be once the film is released in theaters and whether this shorter runtime will have an impact at all.

The Marvels is set to arrive in theaters this November 10.
