One of the highlights of The Marvels was Tessa Thompson's cameo appearance as Valkyrie. She showed up in Carol Danvers' ship and advised the hero, who was struggling to work on a team. Then, she gathered the surviving Skrulls and brought them to New Asgard through the Bifrost.

While she only showed up for around two minutes in the film, a lot of fans were still delighted with the character's brief appearance as it also established her growing friendship with Danvers.

As it turns out, that wasn't the only moment that the character was supposed to show up in the film.

A deleted scene from The Marvels was released online that showed Kamala Khan and Valkyrie's first interaction, indicating that the latter wasn't supposed to only appear in one scene in the film.

In the 1:30-minute-long footage, after an unexpected switch, Kamala found herself in Danvers's ship and answered a video call from Valkyrie.

Kamala introduced herself as her superhero name "Ms. Marvel" which led to Valkyrie assuming that Danvers got "married again" (referencing the hero's diplomatic marriage to Prince Yan). Kamala corrected her and the call ended.

The two heroes' switched again and Danvers was back on her ship. She asked herself, "What is happening to me?" as she recovered from the switcheroo.

It is likely that the scene was removed from the final cut due to the pacing since this happened during the switching sequence in the earlier part of the film.

In Valkryie's only scene in the final cut of the film, while Kamala was also on the ship during her appearance, they didn't have any direct interaction.

While it might be disappointing to see the two characters not meet up officially in the film, fans are still glad that the deleted scene exists online and gives us an idea of what their interaction would have looked like on the screen.

Hopefully, Kamala and Valkryie will have a chance to team up and officially share a moment in a future MCU project beyond the deleted scene.

The Marvels is set to be available on digital on-demand this January 16.
