After a bit of a wait, The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 Part 2 finally got a new trailer, which revealed its opening theme.
The series’ second season aired its first 12 episodes in Spring 2023. Unlike the first season which aired consecutively, Season 2 got a one-season break in between to give the staff more time to work on the show.
Thankfully, the show won’t get a delay unlike some of this season’s titles. Plus, fans can look forward to a new opening theme by a returning artist from Season 1.
The Ancient Magus’ Bride Returns in October
The Ancient Magus’ Bride is a dark fantasy series that began in 2017 with the first anime season by Wit Studio, the studio behind shows like Ranking of Kings and the first three seasons of Attack on Titan.
As was the case with other Wit Studio anime, The Ancient Magus’ Bride did not continue under the studio for its second season. This was also the case with shows like Vinland Saga.
Instead of MAPPA though, it was Studio Kafka who took the reins for the new season, but the voice cast from before returned.
This new season aired in the stacked Spring 2023 period, and while it may have been overshadowed by titles like Oshi no Ko and Demon Slayer, it continues to enjoy a dedicated following.
The second season may have paused after its first 12 episodes, but at least fans won’t have to wait long as the show is set to return this October.

JUNNA Returns for Latest Ancient Magus’ Bride Opening
To promote Part 2, a new trailer for the anime was shared on the Twin Engine YouTube channel and on the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
This trailer not only features brand-new footage but also previews the new opening song Nemurasareta Lineage (or A Quieted Lineage in English) by JUNNA.
Long-time series fans will no doubt be familiar with JUNNA as she performed the first opening song Here for Season 1. You can check out the new trailer with JUNNA’s latest song here:
JUNNA is also the singer of other popular anime songs, including Kono Yubi Tomare for Kakegurui and Kaze no Oto sae Kikoenai for Sabikui Bisco.
The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 Part 2 will be released on October 5, 2023. As with the first half, Part 2 will be streamed on Crunchyroll in most of the world, except Asia.
