Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 Trailer Defeats Obi-Wan Kenobi's Viewership Record

There is little doubt that the trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 was one of the best things that Disney+ released last week, and it's pretty evident that Star Wars fans couldn't get enough of the new teaser. It has just become the most viewed trailer of a Disney+ series within a 24-hour time frame, defeating Obi-Wan Kenobi's first trailer.

The Mandalorian Season 3 trailer was dropped during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL Wild Card playoff game on ESPN. It was also released on the official Star Wars YouTube and social media channels, and fans couldn't get enough of the trailer uploaded on YouTube.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 has been viewed 83.5 million times within the first day of its release. It's a number that easily defeats the previous record holder Obi-Wan Kenobi, which reportedly garnered roughly 58 million views in the first 24 hours of its release.

We're not surprised that The Mandalorian Season 3's trailer is getting a lot of views. After all, it's our first glimpse at what to expect in the third season after the events in the second season and The Book of Boba Fett. With Grogu reunited with Din Djarin, the duo are set for more adventures together and this time, they could be headed for Mandalore so Djarin can atone for his sins. There is a lot of exciting footage and fans are clearly excited about the show's return later this March.

It was also an awesome weekend for Pedro Pascal as the trailer was dropped at roughly the same time as the first episode of his new HBO series The Last of Us.

The Mandalorian Season 3 has not yet been given an official release date but is already expected to premiere on Disney+ in March 2023.
