Star Wars: Andor Character Guide: Who Will Be in the Series?

One of the most anticipated projects of Lucasfilm coming this September on Disney Plus is Star Wars: Andor and the series is about to set what exactly happened five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Here are the cast of the upcoming series.

Andor will stand as the prequel of the spin-off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story which will follow the beginning of the Rebellion, one of the turning points of the narrative of the galaxy far, far away with Cassian Andor as the thief who became a Rebel spy.

Andor will be releasing on Disney Plus with 12 episodes premiering with the first three on September 21st. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Michelle Rejwan, Diego Luna who also plays the titular hero, and Tony Gilroy, the creator of Andor.

Andor started as a thief from a homeworld that was destroyed by the empire leading to their family siding against the Republic. He becomes a Rebellion spy who will do everything in his power to make sure that the job gets done.

He delivers so well even to the point where he needed to shoot a rebel companion just so the intel they are holding onto about the Death Star would not be leaked. No matter how innocent anyone is, so long as they pose a threat to the alliance, he will not hesitate to eliminate.

Diego Luna reprises his role as Cassian Andor from Rogue One. He appeared in various titles such as Wander Darkly, A Rainy Day in New York, Flatliners, Elysium, Mister Lonely, Criminal, The Terminal, among others.

Star Wars: Andor Character Guide: Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma

Mon Mothma first appeared on Return of the Jedi with Caroline Blakiston as the actress playing the character. As Mon Mothma comes back to the narrative, she is now portrayed by Genevieve O'Reilly who debuted in Revenge of the Sith and appeared on Rogue One.

A Republic senator who ventures into politics and plays a huge part into secretly supporting the Rebel Alliance by being a founding member. Genevieve O'Reilly is known for her previous roles in Avatar, The Young Victoria, Forget Me Not, and The Legend of Tarzan.

Star Wars: Andor Character Guide: Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael

Luthen Rael is most likely posing as a spy of the Alliance which has a connection to the Republic senator, Mon Mothma. Stellan Skarsgård has been a veteran in various franchises such as the Pirates of the Caribbean and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Other than those projects, Stellan Skarsgård also appeared on Ronin, King Arthur, Good Will Hunting, Angels and Demons, Mamma Mia!, The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, and Dune.

Star Wars: Andor Character Guide: Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera

Saw Gerrera would be one of the longest standing characters to appear on Andor as he appeared under various Star Wars titles such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch, Rebels, Jedi Fallen Order, and Rogue One where Forest Whitaker first took on the role in live-action.

From Rogue One, Saw led the radicalization as the Alliance cut their ties with the Rebellion completely and hopefully, Andor will feature how this unfold and what made Saw go after the Empire by himself.

Forest Whitaker is an award-winning actor with a long list of projects under his belt such as The Last King, The Great Debaters, Black Panther, The Butler, The Last Stand, The Forgiven, Arrival, Respect, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Platoon, Panic Room, and many more.

Star Wars: Andor Character Guide: Fiona Shaw as Maarva

Little is known about the role of Maarva aside from the appearance that she seeming support the Rebellion and possibly play a pivotal role when it comes to the moral compass of Andor.

Fiona Shaw, like Forest Whitaker, has a lot of projects under her belt with her role as Petunia Dursley as one of the most prominent in the Harry Potter series, The Black Dahlia, Jane Eyre, The Butcher Boy, Undercover Blues, Mountains of the Moon, and many more.

Bix Caleen is another mysterious character in Andor as seen in the trailer where she seems to be running away from someone or something while having blood trickling down her face. Possibly, Bix Caleen is a Rebel spy who may have gotten caught and it being pursued by Stormtroopers.

Adria Arjona previously appeared on Emerald City, Good Omens, Pacific Rim: Uprising, Triple Frontier, Life of the Party, 6 Underground, and Morbius.

Star Wars: Andor Character Guide: Denise Gough as Supervisor Dedra Meero

Supervisor Dedra Meero is an Imperial Officer and given that her uniform is different than others, she may have a higher rank compared to others, possibly the same as that of Director Krennic in Rogue One. Meero is expected to be one of the villains of Andor.

Denise Gough suits up as an Imperial officer in Andor and she is known for her theater roles and appearances in films and television shows.

Star Wars: Andor Character Guide: Kyle Soller as Syril Karn

Syril Karn seems to be an Imperial Officer who despises Andor as seen in his gestures and he may be one of those characters who will be stopping the rebellion led by the titular hero.

Kyle Soller is best known for his roles in Anna Karenina, Marrowbone, The Inheritance, The Keeping Room, Monsters: Dark Continent, The Trip to Spain, and The Titan.

Another role rumored to appear on Andor is K-2S0 which is one of the fan favorites from Rogue One, however, Alan Tudyk, the voice actor of the Imperial droid, seems to play coy whether K-2S0 would appear on the series.

Star Wars: Andor will be premiering with three episodes on September 21, 2022 exclusively on Disney Plus.
