Unlike most Kdramas, Song of the Bandits released all of its nine episodes all at once. This allowed viewers the luxury of binge-watching the Western-themed K-drama in one sitting. For those who finished the show, we're here to talk about Song of the Bandits' ending.

How Did the Bandits Manage to Escape?

Because of his promptness, Chorang-yi (played by Lee Jae-gyun) manages to slip out and help the others survive. He manages to pick up a machine gun that he uses on their enemies.

After their escape, a sizeable fortune has been placed on their heads. And as suggested by Choi Chung-soo (played by Yoo Jae-myung), Lee Yoon (played by Kim Nam-gil) takes some time to reunite with Nam Hee-shin (played by Seohyun).

Lee Gwang-il (played by Lee Hyun-wook) gets the same idea, especially after being put on probation for stopping his men from killing Yoon.

Despite what he did, Hee-shin decides to proceed with their engagement, which surprises him. What he doesn't know at this point, however, is that Hee-shin was a spy and getting more information from him.

This allows her to extract their plan called the Decimation Campaign.

What Is the Japanese’s Plan Decimation Campaign?

The enemy came up with a plan, called Decimation Campaign, which was to eradicate everyone in Joseon and the other resistant groups in Gando. They planned to achieve this by tricking the Chinese to allow them to occupy the Manchuria region.

They succeed in executing this plan by bringing in Ki-ryong and his men to raid the consulate. In the process, they manage to kill several Japanese soldiers, including Chief Inspector Nagano.

Because of what happened, the Chinese allowed them to occupy the region. Their only condition was that no Chinese citizen would be harmed.

Does Gwang-Il Know Hee-Shin’s Secret?

After exposing the Independence Army, Gwang-il learns Hee-shin's secret. Despite this, he continues to play dumb and even bribes his spy to not reveal the information to anyone.

He also proceeds with their wedding. It's possible that this is a way to trap Hee-shin after discovering her secret. But it is unsure of at this point.

Does Yoon Reunite With Hee-Shin?

After learning about the Japanese's plans, Yoon hurries back to Gando to continue fighting with his bandits. Even though his plan was to reunite with Hee-shin, he had to put the fate of the Joseon residents first.

And this is how the first season ends. We'll have to wait for news of a second season to be confirmed before we can make assumptions on what the show will be about.
