Based on the graphic novels written and illustrated by Bryan Lee O'Malley, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off follows a storyline you might be familiar with.
Scott, a 22-year-old musician, never had trouble finding a girlfriend. But when he truly falls in love with a girl named Ramona Flowers, he'll have to defeat her seven evil exes first!
The concept lends itself well to the animated medium, especially since the 2010 live-action also features graphic novel-y bits.
Right now, we don't know just how similar or different the new Scott Pilgrim anime is going to be, but fans can rejoice either way.

An official Scott Pilgrim preview clip landed on Netflix's YouTube channel in late September 2023 in preparation for the November 2023 release of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.
In mid-October 2023, another full trailer dropped, showing Scott and Ramona's relationship, and the seven evil exes.
Netflix also released the opening video for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off before the anime premiered.
It was also revealed that the Japanese rock band Necry Talkie (who performed the OP for Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 1) sang the opening song for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off titled bloom.
