The Rogue One prequel Andor became the most critically acclaimed Star Wars series to date as critics are hailing it for its gritty, complex, and mature take on the franchise that has never been explored before.
The series has also been receiving a lot of accolades including a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Drama Series and a second season was in production prior to the current actor's strike as they're targeting for release in 2024.
While the viewership was not as high as The Mandalorian, it is also slowly gaining a lot of following in the past few months since it premiered last year and there is no doubt that it is now being celebrated by fans.
However, to perhaps the surprise of many, one of the key figures who originated the character of Cassian Andor has actually still not seen the series, but there is a good reason why.
Gareth Edwards Has Still Not Seen Andor Yet
In an interview with Screen Rant, Rogue One director Gareth Edwards was asked whether he has already seen Andor. However, he admitted that he has not watched it yet since he's been busy working on his upcoming film The Creator.
Despite that, the director still shared his excitement about the series due to the people who were involved in it.
"Okay, full disclosure, we finished [The Creator] on Friday. I have not seen it. I have not seen any TV. I've not seen any of the Disney+ anything. The only thing that I've seen is the ILM documentary, the Light of Magic, which is a phenomenal documentary, but I haven't had a chance," he said.
"I'm sure I'll get back to you about it, but I saw the trailer when it came out, we were shooting at Pinewood at the time, and it looked fantastic. It's in, obviously, very great hands, and I'm excited for everybody that's involved."
The reason that Edwards stated regarding why he missed out on the series is very reasonable since he has been occupied and doesn't have free time to commit to watching 12 hours of television.
At some point, he will definitely check out the series and find out how they addressed the origins of the character that originated from his film and perhaps he might be able to share his thoughts when he gets interviewed about it again.

Rogue One and the first season of Andor are both streaming on Disney+.
