As fans eagerly await news about a proper new season, Ranking of Kings recently announced that its new special episode will be released in April 2023.
The upcoming episode was announced via the show’s official Twitter account and website.
Its announcement came with info on the episode’s title, as well as the first preview video.
Ranking of Kings and the Journey of Going Against All Odds
In case you’re unfamiliar, Ranking of Kings is an anime series by Wit Studio, the anime studio behind hits such as the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, as well as Spy x Family (which they worked on alongside CloverWorks).
The anime is based on the manga series of the same name by Sosuke Toka, with new chapters being released on the Manga Hack website. It began back in May 2017 and has since gotten over 100 chapters.
Ranking of Kings was initially translated and released by BookLive. Though right now, the series is being retranslated due to errors in the initial English version.
As for its story, the series is set in a world where a system called the Ranking of Kings selects one of the world’s numerous kings as the best.
The number one-ranked king receives a reward from the Divine Treasure Vault which contains untold treasure.
The series follows Bojji, a young prince who, despite his small stature and deafness, aims to become the world’s number one king.
Bojji soon goes on a quest to gain experience and become a worthy king for his land.
In his travels, he meets Kage, a shadow who becomes Bojji’s constant companion.

Ranking of Kings New Special Episode
The anime aired on Fuji TV in Japan from October 2021 to March 2022. In the US and other select territories, the anime was streamed on Funimation.
With the 24-episode season done, there are lots of fans who are clamoring for a follow-up.
Finally, fans are going to get more new content in the form of a special episode.

This Ranking of Kings special episode is entitled Yuki no Takarabako (Treasure Chest of Courage in English), and it will show Bojji embarking on another adventure.
It will also see the return of the cast and staff from the first season.
This new episode will be released in April 2023. Though right now, there’s no word yet on a specific release date.
