Spoiler Warning: There are Phoenix: Nostalgia manga spoilers ahead!

Who Are Romy’s Love Interests in Phoenix?

The story of Romy in Phoenix: Nostalgia is an interesting but sad one. She is a compassionate and brave woman who followed and trusted her heart to start a new life.

She was once an ordinary Earthling who only wanted to live a much better life with her boyfriend after they fled from an overpopulated planet. But things turned sour after Romy and George landed on a planet called Eden17.

Eden17 was supposed to be Romy and George’s love nest, but the agent of 30th Century Fox Space Real Estate tricked them into thinking that it was a lush and viable planet where they could start their family.

After an unfortunate incident hit the couple, Romy had no choice but to put herself in a cold sleep chamber to continue on with her plan in Eden17.

She was George’s only hope, and the fate of their relationship lies in Romy’s determination to succeed.

Years pass, Romy emerges from the cold sleep chamber, and she encounters Cain. And with Cain, Romy decides to continue on with the plan in the hopes that George’s wish will be fulfilled. The same can be said for Seth.

Fast forward to the future, and Romy meets a ferry pilot named Makimura who doesn’t want anything to do with Earth. They look good together, but they have different perspectives on life.

Unfortunately, Romy did not end up with George in Phoenix: Nostalgia. George died early in the series after an earthquake hit Eden17, leading to his demise.

Despite this, Romy’s heart remained with George, as she was often shown talking to him whenever she was in trouble or feeling overwhelmed.

She always looks back at the time they spent together and wonders how precious their lives could have been if only the stars had aligned for them in Eden17.

Absolutely not. Romy did not end up with Cain in Phoenix: Nostalgia. Romy is Cain’s mother, but she has no choice but to commit incest with her son to fulfill George’s wish to create a thriving society in Eden17.

After Romy woke up from her cold sleep, she coupled with Cain and gave birth to six boys. She loved Cain, even going so far as to treat him as the first prince of Eden17.

However, Romy had to sleep in the cold chamber once again since they failed to give birth to a female child. Cain ended up dying as well after he sacrificed himself for his children.

No, Romy did not end up with Seth either. But the Phoenix did Seth a favor by taking an alien entity called Moopie to fulfill his wish. This moopie can shapeshift into anything, and she copied Romy’s image to make Seth happy.

Seth and his moopie wife start living together on the Fire Mountain, where the Phoenix lives, and they finally give birth to half-human, half-moopie daughters!

Thanks to both of them, Romy finally saw the outcome of her sacrifices.

Like the others, Romy did not end up with Makimura either in Phoenix: Nostalgia. They had a wild ride together after they encountered each other in space.

They were together for a short time, but they have been through interesting space adventures along with Kom and Norva.

At some point, Makimura even tried to kiss Romy, but the latter only slapped his face despite knowing that he saved her from instant death.

Sadly, life happened, and Makimura had no choice but to accept it. In the end, Makimura had to keep his word to Romy that he would bring her body back to Eden17.
