Patrick Stewart made his return as Charles Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in a cameo appearance that delighted a lot of MCU fans despite the character's short-lived and gruesome fate.

There have been rumors for a while now that the actor is set to reprise the role again in Deadpool 3 alongside his co-stars in the original Fox X-Men movies although none of them have been confirmed except Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

The actor also revealed early last year that he was told by Marvel Studios to "stand by" regarding his potential appearance in the MCU film.

In his recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via ComicBook.com), Patrick Stewart was asked about his potential cameo appearance in Deadpool 3.

"I have every confidence he's still around," he said after being reminded of Charles Xavier's multiple deaths in past movies.

Regarding his rumored return in Deadpool 3, Stewart shared, "It has come up, there's been a process. But the last two-three years have been so difficult with the labor problems and the health problems, COVID, you know..."

It is an exciting tease about the actor's potential appearance in the upcoming film since it suggests that it is likely to happen if he is indeed in a "process" and production is still ongoing at the moment after resuming last November.

There's no doubt that a lot of fans would definitely love to see Stewart reprise his role once more and appear with his X-Men co-stars, especially Ian McKellen's Magneto whom he has great chemistry in the original films.

Knowing what we know so far about the secrets that the film might have in store, we can make a bet that Stewart's cameo is likely to happen and he might just be keeping it a secret in the interview.

For now, let's wait and see in the coming months whether we'll get some confirmation or they'll keep it under wraps until its release.

Deadpool 3 is slated for release in theaters on July 26.
