Patrick Stewart Reportedly Reprising Professor X Role in Deadpool 3

Patrick Stewart triumphantly returned as the fan beloved X-Men leader Charles Xavier, widely known as Professor X, in the recent MCU milestone Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Sadly, Stewart only had a small role in the sequel and was brutally murdered by the Scarlet Witch. Thankfully, it seems we'll see more of him in Ryan Reynolds' upcoming threequel Deadpool 3.

According to a report from Giant Freakin Robot, Patrick Stewart is currently negotiating with Marvel Studios to reprise the role of Professor X in Deadpool 3. After all, Deadpool has been associated with the X-Men since the first film, so the threequel might take it on another level, especially after Deadpool 2's post-credits scene hinting at a time travel plot. See the report below:

"This makes a lot of sense in a number of ways. For one, Deadpool (the character) has always been on the outskirts of the X-Men universe, having derived his healing factor from some experiments on Wolverine. For another, the characteristically self-aware Ryan Reynolds version of Deadpool has always liked to make snide little comments about the X-Men in his movies, finally culminating with an array of X-cameos at the end of Deadpool 2. The team (which was a mixture of actors from various films in the franchise) prominently featured the young version of Professor X played by James McAvoy, so it feels very likely the next step is to get the Patrick Stewart Professor X in Deadpool 3."

Patrick Stewart's small cameo in the Doctor Strange sequel opens endless possibilities for the character if he decides to return to Professor X again. Along with that, if Marvel Studios brought Stewart once, they can undoubtedly do it twice.

Just recently, Disney+'s Twitter page hinted at a major X-Men announcement on Disney Plus Day. If we're lucky, Marvel Studios might announce the X-Men's fate in the MCU that might include Patrick Stewart.

Deadpool 3 is still in the writing process with Reynolds serving as producer for the film. The movie will be helmed by The Adam Project director Shawn Levy.
