Normal People Star Paul Mescal Reportedly Being Eyed for Key Fantastic Four Role

A lot of MCU fans have been anticipating the casting for the MCU reboot of the Fantastic Four. After previous failed attempts to bring the First Family to the big screen, there is a lot of hope that this new iteration will be successful this time around, and casting the core four is certainly crucial to the process.

For the past couple of months, we've been hearing several names that are being rumored to play the MCU's First Family although none of them have been confirmed as the casting process is still reportedly still ongoing.

Now, another new rumor has emerged regarding the casting of one of the key roles in Fantastic Four. According to notable insider Daniel Richtman (via The Direct), Normal People star Paul Mescal is being offered to play the role of Johnny Storm/Human Torch in the MCU.

So far, this information has not been confirmed yet by Marvel Studios nor it was reported by the major trades so we still have to take it with a grain of salt. However, Richtman has a decent track record on his past scoops so there is a likelihood that this ends up being true.

This adds up to the Fantastic Four rumors that have been heating up the web in the last few weeks as we've also heard names such as Adam Driver (Reed Richards) and Antonio Banderas (Galactus) being rumored to potentially join the MCU.

Mescal has become one of the rising actors in Hollywood in the past couple of years thanks to his Emmy-nominated performance in Normal People and, recently, he nabbed his first Oscar nomination for his role in Aftersun. He is set to star next in the highly-anticipated Gladiator sequel.

There is no doubt that he is a talented actor and it will be very exciting if he does end up getting cast in the role. For now, let's wait and see if this ends up being true or we'll hear another name instead.
