It's "go big or go home" for Marvel Studios as the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot of Fantastic Four is set to mark the live-action debut of arguably one of comic book's most menacing villains, Galactus.

Yes, you read that right. The all-powerful cosmic entity is heavily rumored to be the reboot's big bad and while it's hard to believe that the studio would use him this early, he's a more logical pick than Doctor Doom who has already been utilized in three Fantastic Four films, including the 1994 version which never got released theatrically.

As it stands, key details surrounding the MCU remake have been frustratingly scarce, but rumor has it that the First Family will actually go on a cosmic adventure before heading back to Earth.

Now, a new report pretty much suggests that the Devourer of Worlds will indeed wreak havoc in the MCU very soon and the studio already has its prime candidate.

According to several sources, including Giant Freakin Robot and Twitter scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Antonio Banderas is currently in talks to play Galactus. GFR notes that while Marvel Studios is keen on recruiting the Hollywood icon, it's still up to him whether he wants to accept the offer or not.

Of course, a star of Banderas' caliber no longer needs to prove himself but I think we can all agree that adding Galactus to his long list of iconic portrayals would be an accolade worth bragging about. I, for one, would really love to see The Mask of Zorro star make the MCU jump.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot is slated for theatrical release on February 14, 2025.
