DC recently announced DC FanDome, a 24-hour global virtual fan event that's set to take place on the 22nd of August. The event is expected to feature upcoming movies, shows, and comic books; and as part of the announcement, Warner Bros. has shared a video revealing a new look at the logo for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.

While the logo has been previously confirmed by Gunn when he announced the film's cast, the bright blue background may hint at the direction he's taking in terms of its theme or style. As seen before, the bullet holes on the logo seem to pay homage to John Ostrander's 80s Suicide Squad comic book run. That said, the background suggests a more colorful and lighter approach. You can check out the post below!

Of course, it's quite difficult to decipher some details simply from the logo, but a lighter movie is something to ponder about. In addition, aside from the cast, plot details about The Suicide Squad are quite scarce but the movie is expected to be some sort of a followup to David Ayer's 2016 film. Fortunately, fans will get a better idea of what's to come in the FanDome event, since there's little known about it yet.

The Suicide Squad seems to be on track for its August 2021 release date too, with Gunn and the rest of the team working on it remotely amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Fans ought to look forward to the upcoming virtual event, hopefully, there'll be some exciting news ahead.
