In one of the episodes of Moving Kdrama, we learn about Ju-won's backstory and how he became known as The Monster.

Through this episode, we learn that Ju-won met Ji-hee during the darkest days of his life.

After the betrayal he experienced from his men, Ju-won is trying to live a quiet life away from everyone. He doesn't have a job and resorts to getting himself into gruesome accidents so he can extort money from the drivers.

The money he earns from these accidents allows him to live a modest life in a sketchy motel room in an unknown town. There, he spends most of his time in his room, watching WWF fights and reading books on martial arts.

During his many nights there, he comes across a pretty woman who delivers coffee to the other tenants in the motel.

It is implied that these women are sex workers who get requested by the motel guests after calling a cafe. While they're mainly there to deliver coffee, the customers can pay for a ticket for extra service.

Ji-hee is one of the women who work in this industry. But this does not bother Ju-won.

She has also been described as someone who hates "the sappy kind." This is in reference to Ju-won, who she believes wants to pretend to be a romantic just to get coffee girls into bed with them.

The first time he comes across Ji-hee is when she is fighting off another customer in the motel lobby. The customer was trying to get more from the money he paid, but Ji-hee was not having it. Ju-won simply observes her.

The second time he sees her is out on the street. Ju-won is trying to collect money from a driver who "crashed" into him but the car got away. Ji-hee tries to help him by offering to run after the car on her scooter. She says they will split the money they collect.

Ju-won, however, is tired and decides not to chase after the driver. Instead, he asks Ji-hee for the directions of a bank that might lead him to the motel. Ju-won is horrible at directions and ends up getting lost.

When he meets Ji-hee again (after she does her deliveries), Ju-won can't help but cry. She decides to help him.

After that incident, Ju-won is excited to get to know Ji-hee more. He calls up the cafe and asks for coffee to be delivered to his motel room. Unfortunately, it takes him four more orders on the same night to get Ji-hee.

Instead of asking for extra service, Ju-won gets Ji-hee to spend more time with him. This goes on for several times.

One day, Ji-hee gets trapped by a small group inside the motel. The group of men have been trying to get her but they are unable to. Ju-won hears her cries and breaks down the wall between their rooms.

He rescues Ji-hee and locks up the men. One of them, however, manages to escape and talk to a gang. From there, the rumors of The Monster's whereabouts are uncovered and Ju-won's old enemies come looking for him.

They are joined by Min Yong-jun (played by Moon Sung-keun) who asks Kim Doo-sik (played by Zo In-sung) to observe Ju-won from the air. Doo-sik goes against Yong-jun's orders and intervenes just before Ju-won can get further injured by his enemies.

Ju-won then gets recruited by the NIS and becomes Doo-sik's partner. He later returns to the cafe where Ji-hee works and asks to have coffee with Ji-hee.

In the next episodes, we see the partnership that Ju-won and Doo-sik have formed together. Ju-won is also there to witness how Doo-sik and Lee Mi-hyun (played by Han Hyo-joo) fall in love.

When the NIS was downsized, Ju-won was among those who were transferred to a different department. He settles for a boring, office job where he faces computers and numbers the whole day.

The work isn't something he enjoys but it helps him get housing for him and Ji-hee. Meanwhile, Ji-hee shows her support for him by telling him to do whatever he wants. Ju-won, however, is unable to quit since it is the only way they can have a home.

When he gets approached by Yong-jun once again, he decides to take up the offer to follow the military as they fight against North Koreans. His mission is to figure out if they have a special member on the team.

Ji-hee supports Ju-won's new job. But this deeply saddens her. Ju-won is gone several days at a time and she is unsure if he is still okay. Even though Ju-won has regenerative powers, Ji-hee can't help but worry about her husband.

After a devastating encounter, Ju-won returns home heartbroken. The people he became friends with were killed by their enemies. Ji-hee also confides in him that she wishes she could have a child. And true enough, Ji-hee gives birth to Hui-soo.

Ju-won gets reassigned to another assignment where he has to go on assignments with other skilled agents.

Ji-hee and young Hui-soo show their support for him by waving their hands below the light sensor as Ju-won puts on his shoes.

After arriving home from one of his assignments, Ju-won hurries to a phone booth. He is told that his daughter and wife were involved in a car accident. Hui-soo is discovered to be unharmed in the crash but Ji-hee dies.

This is where Ju-won first learns that Hui-soo inherited his regenerative powers. Unfortunately, Ji-hee does not have the same powers and is unable to escape when their car explodes.

Later, Ju-won learns to live as a single father and makes sure that Hui-soo grows up healthy and happy. When Yong-jun learns that children inherit their parents' powers, Ju-won leaves everything behind to make sure they never find Hui-soo.

Right now, we don't know for sure who is responsible for Ji-hee's accident. But we know that Jo Rae-hyuk (played by Yu Seung-mok) was present at the scene.

He reported his discovery to Yung-jun to convince him to form the N.T.D.P. to train these youngsters to be super soldiers for the country. Rae-hyuk would later be assigned as the school principal.

Ju-won and Ji-hee's story in Moving is one of the saddest parts of the show. If you plan to watch it, make sure you've prepared yourself for lots of crying.
