Recently, Moving is one of the shows trending on Disney+. One of the questions that viewers have about the show is who Kim Bong-seok's father in Moving is. As the show progressed, we got to know the characters more.

The first episode of Moving opens with a teenage boy floating up in the air while dreaming. This boy is later revealed to be Kim Bong-seok, who has a recurring dream of flying in the sky.

As it turns out, this was not an ordinary dream but a memory of Bong-seok's childhood. While he may seem to have a happy childhood, it lacks the presence of his father. Unfortunately, his father was taken by the military after getting exposed.

With his father gone, Bong-seok has been brought up by his mother, Lee Mi-hyun (played by Han Hyo-joo).

Bong-seok inherited his father's ability to fly. Since he wasn't able to learn how to control his powers, he does not yet have the same speed as his father.

Bong-seok simply floats up to the air whenever he feels happy. To help him stay on the ground, his mother resorts to feeding him a lot. He is also forced to carry heavy weights while in school so he doesn't lose control.

Bong-seok's parents are Lee Mi-hyun and Kim Doo-sik (played by Zo In-sung). The latter has not yet been seen in the present scenes of the show. Viewers have only seen Doo-sik in flashbacks.

Unknown to a lot of people, Mi-hyun also has an ability of her own. She has heightened senses. We don't know yet whether Bong-seok was able to inherit her powers too.

Meanwhile, Doo-sik was a former Black ops agent who was sent for covert missions. Since the head did not believe him, he sent Mi-hyun to get close to him to learn what his secret was.

Eventually, the two got close and even fell in love. Doo-sik revealed his secret to her, yet Mi-hyun did not disclose this to her boss.

When Doo-sik learned that Mi-hyun was on a mission, he helped her out by pretending to be shocked. He also pretended to shoot Mi-hyun in front of everyone as a way of letting her off the hook.

Once Doo-sik was able to escape, Mi-hyun waited for him to return. Even though she waited long, she never lost hope.

One day, Doo-sik finally returned and fulfilled his promise to bring her up in the air. The two started a new life together on the outskirts of Seoul. There, they welcomed their son, Bong-seok.

While Bong-seok was growing up, his parents did not know their abilities can be inherited by their kids. So when Bong-seok started floating one day, Doo-sik feared for his son.

Doo-sik did not want his son to go through the same burden he had with his powers. Not to mention, he did not want his son to be taken in by the NIS.

Because of this, Doo-sik and Mi-hyun took extra care to keep their identities a secret. No matter how tempting it was to use their powers, the couple avoided drawing unnecessary attention.

This, however, changed when Mi-hyun went home one day and discovered Bong-seok was gone. Without thinking twice, Doo-sik rushed off to look for his son in the sky.

Unfortunately, this also put Doo-sik on the radar. After years of keeping a low profile, their cover was blown. But he did not think twice about it-- he had to rescue his son.

In the next few days, a man came to their home pretending to buy some apples. The man was actually a spy with tracking abilities. He discovered where Doo-sik and Mi-hyun lived. Additionally, he learned that the couple has a son with Doo-sik's abilities.

Shortly after, their home was surrounded in the middle of the night. Doo-sik distracted the agents so that Mi-hyun can escape with Bong-seok. This led to his voluntary surrender too.

Before leaving his family, Doo-sik promised that he will find them one day. After years of waiting, Mi-hyun has not lost hope.

While there is still no sign of Doo-sik's return, Mi-hyun has helped make it easier for her husband to find them.

For starters, she opened Namsan Donkatsu, a restaurant that she and Doo-sik always went to when they were still dating.

Another clue that Mi-hyun left behind is by painting the rooftop of their restaurant purple instead of green, the color that other Donkatsu restaurants go with. This was also how Doo-sik found Mi-hyun before since she hinted that her apartment had purple curtains.

We would like to believe that he is not dead and is actually hiding to keep his family safe. Maybe he's been living in the shadows all this time? Hopefully, Doo-sik will be able to return to his family real soon.
