New details about F. Murray Abraham's exit from Mythic Quest have been revealed. According to a new report, the Moon Knight star was fired from the Apple TV+ series after being accused of sexual misconduct.
Back in 2022, Lionsgate confirmed F. Murray Abraham's exit from Mythic Quest before its third season. "F. Murray Abraham will not be returning to season three of Mythic Quest. Beyond that, we do not comment on matters concerning personnel," a spokesperson for Lionsgate had said.
However, a new report from Rolling Stone purports that two complaints were made about F. Murray Abraham's behavior on the set of Mythic Quest. The first complaint resulted in Abraham being warned to stay away from some of the actors on set. But when the second complaint was filed, it was brought to the attention of series co-creator and star Rob McElhenney and resulted in Abraham being fired.
Since then, Lionsgate has shared a new statement with the outlet.
"We take allegations of misconduct seriously and investigate them thoroughly. As a matter of corporate policy, we do not discuss our personnel actions," the statement read.
F. Murray Abraham started his career in the 1970s starring in films like They Might Be Giants, Serpico, and All The President's Men. He is known for notable roles in Inside Llewelyn Davis and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Abraham also lent his voice to several major projects including Isle of Dogs, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, 2019's Lady and The Tramp, and Moon Knight, where he played Khonshu. He recently earned a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his performance in The White Lotus.
The third season of Mythic Quest premiered on Apple TV+ in November 2022. The fourth season of the show is expected to begin production soon and could be released by late 2023 or early next year. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
