It’s been a long time coming, but Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom is arriving soon in Japanese theaters. As with other anime films, international viewers are wondering about the US release date of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom Confirms Official Release Date
In Japan, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom will open on January 26, 2024. The film was first announced during the Sony Music Anime Fest ’06 but only opened its official website in July 2023.
The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom movie was in development for almost 18 years after its production was postponed due to the health condition of the late main writer, Chiaki Morosawa.
This film is part of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Project Ignited in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Gundam SEED.
The film has been confirmed to be a sequel to both Mobile Suit Gundam Seed and Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny.
Those who will be able to become the film’s first viewers in Japan will receive gifts such as two promotional cards that can be used in the Mobile Suit Gundam: Arsenal Base Game and one of two exclusive text short stories courtesy of the film’s scriptwriter, Liu Goto.
Does Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom Have a US Release Date?
As of writing, there’s no official US release date for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, so fans would have to wait for more news and information regarding this subject.
Meanwhile, it has been announced that Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom will have a special screening in Thailand from February 2-4 as part of the Jamnime Festival held by the anime film distributor JAM (Japan Anime Movie) Thailand.
No other international release dates have been announced so far.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom US Release Date Predictions
The production committee behind Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom has yet to provide the US release date of the film.
We can only speculate about its release date for the time being, as with other anime films that only have a premiere date in Japan.
Most of the time, anime films arrive in the US a year or a half after they have been released in Japan. If this is the case, US viewers will be able to watch the film by June 2024 or sometime in 2025.
It's also possible that Netflix will pick up the film and stream it at an early date.
For now, nothing has been confirmed, so take all these predictions with a grain of salt.
