The upcoming Gundam Seed movie is already highly anticipated by fans, and it just revealed a new voice cast member that’s sure to excite fans even more. The popular J-pop idol Win Morisaki has just been confirmed to be part of the Gundam Seed Freedom cast.
Morisaki’s involvement in the new Gundam anime has been kept under wraps for some time now. But with the film’s release inching ever closer, Morisaki was confirmed to voice a new character in the film.
Win Morisaki Joins the Stacked Gundam Seed Freedom Voice Cast
Win Morisaki is a Burmese singer who has become an icon in Japan as he’s the lead vocalist of the J-pop idol group PrizmaX.
Aside from his music career, Morisaki has also established himself as an actor. He made his Hollywood debut in 2018 when he starred in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One.
Morisaki is mostly cast in live-action projects, though he has played a role in an anime before. Back in 2019, he voiced the main character in the Children of the Sea movie.
What’s interesting to note is that, despite Win Morisaki’s casting being unexpected, it may have been foreshadowed before. After all, Morisaki’s character in Ready Player One turned into the OG mobile suit.
With Morisaki joining the cast as Griffin Arbalest, the next Mobile Suit Gundam movie just became even more stacked with big names.
As previously announced, the upcoming Gundam Seed movie brings back original cast members, including Soichiro Hoshi as Kira Yamato and Rie Tanaka as Lacus Clyne.
The film also features lots of big-name VAs who will voice new characters.
These include Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Fuutarou in The Quintessential Quintuplets), Yuichi Nakamura (Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen), and Sumire Uesaka (Lum in Urusei Yatsura).

Gundam Seed Freedom to Be Released in Cinemas in January 2024
Gundam Seed Freedom is the first new project in the Gundam Seed series in nearly two decades. It will be a direct sequel to the two TV anime series that aired in the early to mid-2000s.
As revealed in the trailers, the film features an art style that looks very much like the Gundam Seed anime shows. This should make it a must-see for long-time series fans.
Gundam Seed Freedom will be released in Japanese cinemas on January 26, 2024. There’s no word yet on a release date for the film in theaters outside of Japan.
Given that many anime films get international screenings, fans can expect this film to screen internationally sometime in 2024.
