It's been a while since we last saw Fennec Shand in the Star Wars franchise and the beloved character's return remains unclear. Played by screen icon Ming-Na Wen, the character debuted in The Mandalorian and has since been a fixture in the MandoVerse.

However, after appearing in The Book of Boba Fett and The Bad Batch, Fennec was conspicuous by her absence in the third season of The Mandalorian. Now, the actress addresses her intriguing future in a galaxy far, far away.

Speaking with ComicBook, Ming-Na revealed she's unsure when we'll see Fennec again but said she's hopeful. When asked if she knows about the character's next appearance, the actress said: "No, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed."

"I keep sending out good energy. I miss being her. Now that the strike is over, I think it's going to be fun and accelerated to try to get every production back online. And I certainly pray and hope that Fennec comes back, but unfortunately, that is ... unless I cosplay myself."

On the possibility of Fennec getting her own live-action series, Wen said: "Well, I get a lot of fans asking if there could be a spinoff of just vetting. I'm like, why not? I don't know. Yeah, any reason to just do Star Wars again."

While Fennec is undoubtedly a good character, I don't think she's showcased enough to warrant her own spinoff series before the likes of Bo-Katan or Sabine Wren, at least.

With The Book of Boba Fett's status uncertain as well, it looks like we might have to wait a little longer to see Shand's return.

All episodes of The Book of Boba Fett are available to stream on Disney+.
