Star Wars, Marvel Hotshot Ming-Na Wen to Receive Her Walk of Fame Star

After Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher finally received her Hollywood Walk of Fame star on May 4, fans hope that it will not be long before another star from the intergalactic franchise receives the same recognition.

Ming-Na Wen is not just famous for her stint as Fennec Shand in Star Wars, but she’s also a noteworthy Marvel actor after playing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Melinda May. Not to mention her performance as Mulan for Disney.

Wen has long proven her versatility by also starring in different genres of projects, starting with The Joy Luck Club, ER, Fresh Off the Boat, and The Batman, among others. Given her impressive resume, it’s just fair that she received her star on the famous walkway.

It was announced that the Mandalorian star will receive her star at the end of the month to honor her incredible work as an actress. Wen’s star will be the 2,757th to be added to the historic landmark on Hollywood Boulevard.

“Ming-Na Wen has had quite an iconic career! Like Mulan, she inspired women everywhere to embrace their inner warrior. She has always been a supporter of and has always believed in lifting female artists, especially women of color and we’re excited that we’re able to recognize her achievements on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Last week, Wen shared with Collider about the possible second season of The Book of Boba Fett, noting her desire to have more battle scenes in the Star Wars show.

“I would like to see what they do with their– You know, he’s this Lord now of Tatooine, and he is managing to have some control, but he was trying to do it one way, and I’m not sure how effective it was,” she said.

Wen continued: “He was trying to have a greater honor system, and I would love to see that he turns back to a bit more like what Boba Fett was in also being able to maintain justice or accomplish what he needs to accomplish on Tatooine. And then, ultimately, just to have a lot of fun battle scenes.”

Aside from her enthusiasm to maintain her Star Wars journey, Wen also recently addressed her future in the MCU by stating her willingness to reprise her role as Agent May.

"I really can't tell what's going to happen, but I do know that having played her for seven years, 22 episodes every year, I miss being her. As an actor, we give birth to these characters and they become a part of us; they're in our DNA, and I do miss her being, so I hope one day that I get to bring Agent May back."

The actress will receive her star on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. PT.
