Marvel Studios has usually been a constant presence in the annual San Diego Comic-Con thanks to their Hall H presentation where they showcase new trailers and footage of their upcoming projects and announce new ones to the public for the first time much to the fan's hype.

However, with the writers' strike affecting the productions of several MCU projects and the recent news that their 2024 slate and beyond are going to be delayed, there have been questions about whether they will push through with the presentation this year.

Now, we finally have the answer and it sounds like we won't be expecting any major MCU announcements next month.

TheWrap has confirmed that Marvel Studios will be skipping Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con this year. However, Marvel itself is still going to have a presence on the convention floor.

The studio's absence from the convention comes as several of their productions are currently on pause due to the writers' strike and SAG-AFTRA might also commence a strike if a deal won't be made by the end of this month.

Aside from Marvel Studios, the report also claimed that HBO and Universal Pictures might also skip the convention this year.

Last year, the studio behind the MCU made a huge splash as they made several announcements on their slate such as the official reveal of the two upcoming Avengers movies and the release of the first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

There were expectations that the studio might finally unveil the cast of Fantastic Four as well as reveal more projects that are in the works and trailers of upcoming films and TV shows in SDCC this year although that is unfortunately no longer the case anymore.

Marvel Studios has not made an official comment yet regarding why they are skipping the convention, but the reasons stated above are likely to be the main reason for their decision.

This is certainly disappointing news for fans who have been looking forward to major announcements since it has become an annual tradition. Hopefully, they will return next year when things are expected to be back on track.
