Mark Ruffalo expressed his doubt on potentially starring in an MCU Hulk solo movie.

For years, fans have been clamoring for the actor to finally get his own solo movie as The Incredible Hulk as he's always been portrayed as a supporting character.

However, due to complicated distribution rights issues with Universal Pictures, Marvel Studios cannot produce a standalone Hulk project anytime soon.

Speaking with GQ, Ruffalo expressed his interest to star in a potential solo Hulk movie. However, he believes that it won't ever happen due to the heavy CGI nature of the project.

"I’d love to do a standalone Hulk, I just don’t think that’s ever going to happen," he said.

"It’s very expensive if you did a whole movie, which is why they use the Hulk so sparingly. I priced myself out!"

Ruffalo also weighed in on the MCU's recent setbacks, especially on the polarizing reception of the Disney+ shows.

With word that Marvel Studios is currently undergoing creative retooling on its future projects, the actor thinks that it could lead to positive outcomes but he's also not sure whether the franchise will return to its former glory.

"I think the expansion into streaming was really exciting, but the thing about Marvel movies is you had to wait three years and that created a mystique," he said.

"These corrections could be really positive things. Will it be what it was? I don’t know."

So far, Marvel Studios remains mum on their future plans for Ruffalo's Hulk in the MCU.

Recently, the actor mistakenly said that he would be appearing in Captain America: Brave New World. It was eventually debunked right after.

As suggested by the end of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, there are definitely more stories left for the Hulk in the MCU. Hopefully, we will learn more details about his future soon.
