A lot of fans have pointed out the issues that they have on the film whether it's the pacing, editing, dialogues, and the loopholes and inconsistencies in its plot.

X user Tom Smith (@Tom_Smith717) posted his observation on the ending of Madame Web where he spotted that footage from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 was used in one of the shots.

The new film recycled footage of a building from the 2004 film in the final sequence that showed Cassandra Webb's future vision of Julia Cornwall, Anya Corazon, and Mattie Franklin on the mission as the Spider-Women.

Other fans also agree with Smith's observation in the film's ending:

It is unknown yet why the film recycled footage from the Raimi film in the ending except it is likely that they weren't able to shoot their own footage of a New York building or, for some reason, they just didn't want to use a stock footage.

However, it should be pointed out that this does not indicate that the film is part of the Raimi-verse since they clearly established that it is set in their own standalone universe and Peter Parker's Spider-Man has not existed yet in its 2003 setting.

Using recycled footage for an establishing shot is also not necessarily an odd filmmaking tool that productions use although, most of the time, they look at stock footage instead of using a past movie that the studio also owns.

In the end, this adds to the ridicule that the film has been receiving at the top of many criticisms, and who knows what else will fans spot the more it's getting watched by the public.

Madame Web is now showing in theaters everywhere.
