Following the release of its first trailer last November, a line that was mentioned by Dakota Johnson's Cassandra Webb in Madame Web became a viral meme sensation online.

The line "He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died" was ridiculed by fans for various reasons whether it's because of its copypasta potential or Johnson's monotone delivery.

Now, the actress has finally weighed in on the meme status of her line in the new movie.

Speaking with HuffPost UK, Dakota Johnson was asked about her thoughts on the unexpected meme sensation of her line in Madame Web.

The actress initially responded with, "Why did that go viral?" The interviewer went on to explain that the line was laughed at out of context.

"Somebody brought this up and I have no idea what it's about," she said before finally commenting, "But isn't any sentence out of context? Out of context? What a silly thing."

Johnson recited the line again and concluded, "That seems like a basic storyline to me. But maybe I'm just underneath it."

Since the actress is not active on social media, perhaps it was hard to understand for her why a simple line that she delivered in the film became an unexpected meme sensation or the meme culture in general.

However, it seemed like she wasn't also pleased with the meme status of the line as she didn't find it funny or worthy of being ridiculed. Obviously, as the star of the film, she also has a different perspective and she won't have the same reaction as the fans.

It's hard to tell right now whether the memes surrounding the film will help its box office when it releases or it will turn off some potential audiences since they might not take it seriously based on the ridicule and jokes online.

It also seemingly has a similar trajectory with Morbius, which became a meme sensation as well after the release of the film and ended up receiving disappointing box office results.

Madame Web is set to arrive in theaters this February 14.
