Pedro Pascal has always been a gifted actor, we all know that but it can't be denied that his star shined even brighter following his involvement in The Mandalorian which pretty much launched his career to the stratosphere. After his career-defining role as Din Djarin in the hit Star Wars spinoff series, the actor has landed roles in different franchises which only proves that producers took notice of his Mando performance.

Recently, Pascal starred as the evil and maniacal Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman 1984 and although the DC Extended Universe film failed to live up to the hype, fans were raving about his brilliant performance in the film. Now, the Chilean actor is set to take on yet another career-making role as he was cast in the live-action adaptation of the hit video game The Last of Us which is under development over at HBO Max.

However, Pascal's involvement in the upcoming series reportedly worries Lucasfilm. According to a scoop from insider Daniel Richtman (via Patreon), Star Wars' home production company is concerned that Pascal could end up leaving The Mandalorian if The Last of Us becomes successful. He says: "Lucasfilm trying to lock Pedro down for a while, they are scared they may lose him if Last of Us takes off."

We don't know the exact details of Pedro's Lucasfilm contract but initially, The Mandalorian wasn't intended to be a lengthy series and the general belief was it was only going to have at least three seasons. Obviously, the success of the show and the evident expansion of the "Mandoverse" changed their plans.

Pascal's involvement in The Last of Us may actually affect his Star Wars projects but I don't think Lucasfilm will be foolish to let him slip through their fingers. Let's see how the negotiations between the two parties will play out.

The Mandalorian Season 3 will begin filming this April.
