Kathryn Newton made her MCU debut last year in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania where she took over the role of Cassie Lang, who became a more prominent character in third third movie.

So far, there are no official details yet regarding the actress' next MCU appearance, but the final scene of The Marvels suggested that we will be seeing Cassie again soon as she was mentioned as a potential recruit in the Young Avengers line-up.

Despite the polarizing reception to Quantumania, fans are still looking forward to seeing what's next for the characters including Cassie, whose portrayal by Newton received solid responses.

Now, the actress has finally weighed in on her potential MCU return months after the Young Avengers tease.

Kathryn Newton opened up about potentially making her MCU return in the Young Avengers project during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

When asked whether she heard about The Marvels' Young Avengers tease prior to the release of the film, she revealed, "I did! I heard through the Quantum Realm birdies. I heard that there was a cool tag, and I was pretty excited to see that and hear that."

However, Newton is still not exactly sure about her next MCU appearance as there were no official discussions about it yet, but she is open to playing Cassie Lang again.

"So my hope for Cassie Lang has always been to grow with my audience, be it the people who are my age and saw [Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania], or the people who are just starting to watch Marvel movies at a young age. I saw one when I was a little young, but I still love those movies," she said.

"So if I get an opportunity to continue the story, then that would be so cool to be a part of a generation that’s growing up with a film. It’s such a big part of my life. But they don’t really tell you. They tell you an overall, but I don’t take anything for granted."

The actress continued, "I am just trying to get through the day. Let’s finish one movie and then let’s continue. But I would very much also jump at the opportunity to work with Marvel Studios again."

Given that "Ant-Man's daughter" was explicitly mentioned during the scene in The Marvels, we can pretty much say that Cassie will be included in the Young Avengers line-up and Newton's MCU tenure is definitely not over.

The reception to Quantumania won't likely discourage Marvel Studios from continuing the character's journey as they can find ways to reinvigorate her in future projects that she'll be included in.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is available to stream on Disney+.
