A lot of MCU fans have been looking forward to the upcoming movie Deadpool 3 which is set to arrive in theaters this summer. Recently, the cast and crew finally wrapped filming after months of delay related to last year's Hollywood labor strikes.

The film won't just serve as a team-up between Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, but it will also bring back several fan-favorite characters from the Fox Marvel movies.

Considering that the MCU is in a fractured state at the moment, fans are hoping that the upcoming film will turn things around and hopefully make them excited for the future again.

In a recent interview on BroBible's Post Credit Podcast, X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn opened up about his excitement over the release of Deadpool 3 later this year.

He claimed that, based on what he had heard about the film, he believed that the upcoming MCU release would bring back the jolt and save the franchise.

"The few snippets that I know about Deadpool vs. Wolverine — or Wolverine vs. Deadpool, I’m sure that argument between Ryan and Hugh is happening as we speak — are unbelievable," the director said.

"That’s going to be the jolt... the Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them and it’s going to bring that body back to life... I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe."

Vaughn also hoped that Deadpool 3 would lead to Marvel Studios making more good X-Men movies in the future as they integrate the mutants into their universe.

He added, "I’m a genuine fan of the X-Men, all I want is for the movies to be as good as they should be."

It is an exciting tease for the upcoming film since it is coming from someone who has worked on an X-Men movie and knows people who are currently working on Deadpool 3 so he probably has some intel that most people don't know yet which is why he made such comment.

Hopefully, it is indeed going to be the case when we see the film later this year since it is the MCU's only theatrical release and has a nostalgic appeal for the wider audience that could propel it to huge box office success.

Deadpool 3 is set to release in theaters this July 26.
