Jujutsu Kaisen took the anime world by storm when it was released in 2020.

While the Shonen Jump manga that it’s based on was already a hit before, the anime did a lot to boost its popularity both in Japan and internationally.

While the first season was a huge hit, it has taken some time before the anime’s second season.

One likely reason for this is how busy MAPPA is. After all, the studio continues to work on other huge titles like Attack on Titan and Vinland Saga.

Finally though, fans won’t have to wait much longer as the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen was confirmed and will premiere in July 2023.

As the first season ended in the Death Painting arc, Season 2 will begin with the Hidden Inventory arc.

Without going too deep into spoiler territory, this arc is a memorable one as it gives us a look at Gojo and Geto’s past.

Following this arc, Season 2 will cover the Shibuya Incident, which is the biggest and most anticipated arc of the series.

It’s fair to say that this part of Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most game-changing ones so far.

Geto and Gojo’s high school appearances are instantly recognizable, even for anime-only fans. Though their hairstyles and outfits are markedly different from their present-day looks.

For instance, Geto has a simpler hairstyle, and his uniform consists of a standard school uniform top that’s paired with an eye-catching pair of balloon pants.

Meanwhile, Gojo’s school uniform isn’t all that different from his present teacher attire. However, instead of his signature blindfold, Gojo is wearing sunglasses.

Following these new visuals, the anime's official Twitter released yet another key visual, this time highlighting not only Geto and Gojo but also the other characters in the next arc.

This new visual was shared ahead of the show's highly-anticipated AnimeJapan 2023 showcase, which will likely come with an official release date announcement.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will premiere in July 2023, making it one of the highlights of the Summer 23 season alongside the likes of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 and the new Rurouni Kenshin anime.
