After a leak of Nanami’s new character visual last week, Jujutsu Kaisen officially shared new character designs of young Nanami, Utahime, and other characters for Season 2.
These new character designs were shared on the show’s official website.
Specifically, there are designs for seven characters, four of whom are returning characters from the first season that fans should no doubt be familiar with.
Hidden Inventory Arc to Open Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
As shown in the trailer and key visual, Jujutsu Kaisen's second season will begin with an extended flashback arc.
Titled Hidden Inventory, this arc will be set in 2006 – over a decade before the series’ present events.
In this arc, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto will play major roles as the events will follow their fateful encounter with Toji Fushiguro.
This is a significant arc in the manga as the events here are key in the Shibuya Incident, an arc that is considered the biggest of the series to this day.
While the Hidden Inventory arc centers on Gojo and Geto, it will also feature appearances from other popular Jujutsu Kaisen characters, albeit as high school students. These include the likes of Mei Mei, Utahime, and Nanami.
It won’t be all returning characters though. Along with Toji, the arc will also feature new characters such as Riko Amanai who will play a major role in the arc as implied in the trailer.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Reveals Character Designs of Young Nanami, Utahime, and More
Last week, Jujutsu Kaisen trended because of the latest manga leak. Along with the manga chapter spoilers, an image of Nanami’s high school look also drew lots of attention.
Now, the leaks have been confirmed as the official Jujutsu Kaisen website revealed the Season 2 character designs of seven characters.
These include Yu Haibara, Kento Nanami, Masamichi Yaga, Mei Mei, Utahime Iori, Misato Kuroi, and Shiu Kong.
Nanami and Mei Mei have the most striking change of look. In his high school days, Nanami had longer hair, not to mention that he doesn’t wear his glasses.
Meanwhile, Mei Mei’s look is quite different, especially her hairstyle.
On the other hand, Masamichi looks quite similar except for his hair and lack of sunglasses.
As for Utahime, she doesn’t have her scar yet, though she still wears her signature shrine maiden outfit.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will premiere in July 2023.
