Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Delay Geto

With the anime’s long-awaited return happening soon, it was revealed recently that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 would get a delay in August that will last for three weeks.

The delay was revealed via the anime’s official Twitter account. There, details about which part of the anime will be delayed were announced along with the broadcast schedule.

Jujutsu Kaisen getting a delay is unfortunate, though fans at least know when the show will return, unlike the delays that plagued several anime shows earlier this year.

As previously revealed, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will begin with the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc which will follow a pivotal event in Satoru Gojo’s past.

It was also confirmed that this initial arc of the second season will be covered in the first five episodes.

Then afterward, the season will cover the Shibuya Incident, which is considered by many to be Jujutsu Kaisen’s best arc.

Though fans will have to wait a while before getting to see this massive arc as it was announced that Season 2 will go on a three-week break before this arc’s beginning.

There was no reason given for the delay, though it’s likely that the anime is delayed after Episode 5 to give the animators more time to work on the next arc. After all, the Shibuya Incident will feature lots of action.

Even though delays aren’t good for any anime, the case with Jujutsu Kaisen is at least better than the delays that plagued the Winter 2023 season which featured several shows getting indefinite hiatuses.

Along with the delay, two new voice cast members were announced on the show’s Twitter account.

These include Risa Shimizu (Kokone in Delicious Party♡Precure) as Misato Kuroi and Hiroki Yasumoto (King in One-Punch Man) as Shiu Kong.

Meanwhile, the new schedule is as follows:

  • Hidden Inventory/Premature Death Arc – July 6 to August 3
  • Behind-the-Scenes Program – August 10 and August 17
  • Shibuya Incident Arc – August 31

While the first two weeks of the short hiatus will feature special behind-the-scenes programs, there will be no episode or content on August 24.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, July 6. There’s no official word yet on which platform the show will be streamed on outside Japan.

However, fans expect it to release on Crunchyroll, much like Season 1.
