For the past several months, there have been rumors that Jason Momoa is joining the DCU to play the new role of Lobo. While his potential involvement would mean that he will exit as Aquaman, fans have been supportive of the idea of him taking on the fan-favorite character.

So far, DC Studios have not confirmed the rumor yet, but reports have claimed that the actor is already being circled for the role and his casting may likely become official soon.

There is also the fact that all Justice League actors including Momoa are not set to reprise their respective roles in the DCU which paves the way for him to play a new character in the upcoming reboot.

Now, the actor has finally chimed in on the rumor and revealed whether he is actually in talks to play Lobo in the DCU.

In an interview with Fandango (via Screen Rant), Momoa addressed his rumored casting as Lobo in the DCU and revealed whether he is actually in talks for the role.

He claimed that he has not received a call yet from DC Studios and discussed playing Lobo in the DCU, but he is interested in the role as he found it to be "perfect" for him.

"So, Lobo… I used to collect comics and I don't do so much anymore, but he was always my favorite. And I've always wanted to play Lobo because I'm like, 'Hello?.’ It's pretty perfect. It's the perfect role. I mean, listen, if they call me and ask me to play it? It's a f*** yeah. But, I mean, that's a guarantee," Momoa said.

"So, you don't have to worry about that. But, I haven't received that call. So, I don't want to put any fake news out there but if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I'm there."

If we take the actor's word, it looks like he has not been cast yet as Lobo as of this moment, but the possibility is still out there since he is actively campaigning for the role.

There is a chance that we might be hearing about the truth behind it once Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom ends its theatrical run since that would be a perfect time for them to announce Momoa's new role in the DCU without affecting the previous version.

For now, let's wait and see whether the casting will happen soon and how he will play into the DCU when he makes his debut.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to arrive in North American theaters this Friday.
