Arthur Pendragon is a major supporting character in the original The Seven Deadly Sins series where he appears as a sixteen-year-old with gold-colored armor. In the series, Arthur is a polite man with a happy-go-lucky demeanor.

As for his relationship with Meliodas, this has taken quite a few turns over the series. In the beginning, Arthur had a good relationship with the series’ protagonist, with Arthur seeing him as a skilled fighter.

Their relationship changes upon Meliodas’ betrayal as Arthur resolves to kill him. Interestingly, this takes another turn as Arthur and Meliodas fight alongside each other during the penultimate King of Chaos arc.

Thus, it’s fair to say that Arthur is a rather heroic character in the original story. This all changes with Four Knights of the Apocalypse though, as shown in the anime’s episodes and the new trailer.

Now, Arthur is no longer the noble king that he was 16 years ago.

Sixteen years after the original story, King Arthur’s personality has become twisted. In Four Knights of the Apocalypse, he has become a dark and manipulative king.

Thus, while King Arthur is good in The Seven Deadly Sins, it’s clear that he has turned evil. In fact, his goal now is to destroy the four other races so that humanity can live in peace.

As such, King Arthur is now the main antagonist in Four Knights of the Apocalypse. He is the reason the forces of Camelot are targeting Percival and the three other knights.

Arthur promises to be a dastardly foe, especially as he is still the host of Chaos, giving him incredible power. For now, though, the extent of his power is unclear.

King Arthur will appear in the Four Knights of Apocalypse anime soon. New episodes of the series are released every week on Netflix.
