Haruki Yamauchi is not portrayed as a smart student in Classroom of the Elite. He may excel at lying, but he lacks academic prowess.
For instance, his student evaluation in the Year 1 arc is revealed to be below average. He scored an E+ in academic ability, while his intelligence was rated D-.
Meanwhile, his decision-making skills earned him a D+, indicating a deficiency in his ability to make sound judgments when the situation demands it.
In terms of physical ability and cooperativeness, Yamauchi was only able to get a C-.
In terms of navigating school life, he was unable to prevent his expulsion from the academy.
Until the end, he adamantly refused to acknowledge any of his misdeeds, vehemently claiming he was falsely accused.
He hurled insults at his classmates, insisting that Sakayanagi would rescue him, despite Horikita exposing him and turning the class against him.
