The Gushing Over Magical Girls Blu-ray will be released with an incredibly not safe for work (NSFW) freebie that likely counts as the strangest bonus item for a home video anime release.
Aside from this freebie, this Blu-ray is not for everyone, especially given just how NSFW the anime is. In fact, it’s probably one of the most explicit shows of the season so far.
Gushing Over Magical Girls Is One of This Season’s Most Explicit Shows
Alongside Chained Soldier, Gushing Over Magical Girls is at the top of the ecchi anime list for winter 2024. If you ask some, it might even handily take the top spot given its copious amount of BDSM scenarios.
Even though it’s a magical girl show based on its title, this anime is far from the sweet and kid-friendly examples in the genre. After all, it follows Utena Hiiragi, a magical girl fan who becomes a villain.
While apprehensive at first, she soon comes to enjoy being the villain as she can torment the magical girl trio Tres Magia in cruel and explicit ways.
The show already has tons of ecchi scenes, but the new Blu-ray freebie may have topped it when it comes to just how NSFW it is.

Gushing Over Magical Girls’ official X account announced that the upcoming volume 1 Blu-ray will come with a special setting booklet.
In anime, a setting booklet typically features character art, backgrounds, and more. This Gushing Over Magical Girls booklet is focused on character art, albeit incredibly explicit ones.
As the announcement states, this is an “official nipple setting booklet” that features official topless art of the show’s main characters.
It’s not clear what else will be inside this booklet. What’s certain though is that it will feature drawings of the characters’ faces and topless busts.

Where to Buy Gushing Over Magical Girls Blu-ray
If that’s not enough, the volume 1 Blu-ray will also come with other NSFW freebies, including a 1/7 scale figure of Utena Hiiragi in the special edition.
As a bonus, the Blu-ray will come with other collectibles depending on where it’s purchased. These include acrylic stands, posters, and tapestries.
The Blu-ray is currently available for pre-order in Japan through the Kadokawa store, Amazon Japan, Animate, Gamers, Sofmap, and Rakuten Books.
Based on other anime Blu-ray releases, this volume will likely be Japan-only, meaning international fans will need to buy one through Japanese retailers and have it shipped through package forwarding services.
