For the past few months, we've been hearing reports that The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal is in talks to play Reed Richards in the MCU reboot of Fantastic Four. However, Marvel Studios still remains mum on the casting up to this point.

Recently, thanks to the official page of SAG-AFTRA, we seemingly have a confirmation that Pascal is starring in the MCU film as his bio indicated that he is set to begin working on the project soon.

In a now-deleted post on his Instagram story, Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman shared a post that confirmed Pedro Pascal's casting as Reed Richards in the MCU film.

However, hours after he posted the story and became a huge conversation online, Shakman's Instagram account was deleted.

This is pretty much the confirmation that Pascal has indeed been cast to play the leader of the Fantastic Four in the highly-anticipated MCU movie since it is coming from the director himself.

It is possible that he was reprimanded by Marvel Studios after he made the public post which is why his Instagram account was deleted hours later to avoid more speculations and conversations online regarding the casting rumor.

Now, fans are looking forward to hearing which other cast members have been tapped to play the rest of the First Family and it is likely that we will hear about it very soon since the film is set to begin filming later this year.

We should also anticipate an official word from Marvel Studios regarding the casting as they still have not commented on the various reports and rumors that have been going around regarding the casting of the MCU's First Family.

For now, let's wait and see how it will all play out in the coming weeks or months since fans have been patiently waiting for the official news.

Fantastic Four is slated to release in theaters on May 2, 2025.
