Deadpool 3 is set to bring back most of the key characters from the Fox X-Men movies as well as the supporting characters from the first two films. While it remains unknown how they will play into the story, fans are excited to see them all return nonetheless.
One of the cast members from the previous films who is confirmed to return is Morena Baccarin, who plays Wade Wilson's girlfriend Vanessa.
There have been rumors and speculations for a while now that the character will become her superhero alter ego Copycat in the film. So far, none of the people involved in the film have confirmed it.
A lot of fans would be happy to see the exciting development happen to Vanessa in the film since it will put her closer to the source material and she won't just simply be a love interest for the hero.
Now, the actress has finally addressed the rumor surrounding her character's potential superhero turn.

Morena Baccarin Teases Potential Copycat Debut in Deadpool 3
In an interview with Josh Wilding (via ComicBook.com), Baccarin addressed her return as Vanessa in Deadpool 3 where she revealed that she already finished filming all her scenes in the film.
"It did work out! I finished my shooting days on it, already. I think the film is now underway again after the strike and I think it's going to be quite good! Yeah, I think fans are in for a fun surprise," she said.
When asked whether her character will become Copycat in the film, the actress didn't give a definitive answer but she expressed her interest to see the superhero turn happen.
Baccarin responded, "I think yes. But, I think she's also competing with a very large universe."
This is an intriguing tease from the actress since she showed her excitement about the surprises that the film has in store and she teased about the possibility that she will become Copycat.
Considering that it is exploring the multiverse and Marvel Studios is seemingly embracing a lot of comic-accurate material nowadays, there is a possibility that Vanessa will become Copycat in another universe and that could lead to some interesting scenes between her and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool.
For now, let's see how they'll handle the character's appearance in the film and hopefully, it won't just be an extended cameo since she is a huge important part of Wade's life.
Deadpool 3 is slated for release in theaters on July 26, 2024.
