As a result of the SAG-AFTRA strike, production for Deadpool 3 is currently on pause just like all major productions across Hollywood as the industry is waiting for the studios to finally agree on a fair deal with the actors' guild.
The highly-anticipated threequel is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters by early summer next year which has always been a prime release date for MCU films in the past and they are banking on the Ryan Reynolds-led movie to continue the trend.
However, given that the film was halfway through its shoot when production was shut down last July, there have been questions about whether they will be able to make it on its planned release.
Now, it looks like a delay is now more imminent as suggested by a recent report.

Deadpool 3 is Not Expected to Go Through With Its May 2024 Release
A recent report from Deadline shed some light on the status of the major theatrical releases that are supposed to arrive in theaters next year and how the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike is impacting them.
Citing a motion picture marketing source that characterized next year's release calendar as "not real," the report is speculating that Deadpool 3 won't be able to make it on its planned early summer release date.
While the writers' guild and studios have already made a tentative deal and will potentially be ratified very soon once the members vote for it, the actors' guild is still on strike and has yet to schedule a bargaining meeting with the studios which will likely to happen as early as next week.
However, the writers of the film will be able to do revisions and polishes on the script once the new contract gets ratified which is something that Marvel Studios could do on their projects as they wait for the actors to be allowed to go back to work.
If a deal gets made with the actors' guild in a few weeks and is ratified soon after, that is when the cast members of the film can show up again on the set.
Since the timeframe towards the early summer release is shrinking as the days are passing by, it is getting more unlikely that the film will be completed on time and it won't be surprising if Disney announces another delay very soon.
For now, let's wait and see how it will all unfold in the next few weeks since the situation is fluid. What's most important for now is that the actors' guild will be able to get the deal that they want.
Deadpool 3 is currently slated for release in theaters on May 3, 2024.
