For the past few months, the upcoming MCU series Daredevil: Born Again underwent a creative overhaul after Marvel Studios reviewed the footage that was shot prior to the Hollywood labor strikes and decided that the original creative direction wasn't working.

Since then, a new showrunner and directors have been hired to take over the project and shepherd a new creative direction for the series. It was also reported that Foggy Nelson and Karen Page will also be included again in the new iteration.

However, one question that fans still have regarding the new version is the episode count. Initially, Marvel Studios announced that the first season would consist of 18 episodes and it remains unknown yet whether it will remain the same.

Now, we finally have the answer as the series is set to resume production again.

A recent report from The Hollywood Reporter revealed some new details regarding the creative overhaul of Daredevil: Born Again as it is set to begin production today including its new episode count.

It was confirmed that the series will no longer consist of 18 episodes. Instead, its episode count will be similar to the original Netflix show which ran for 13 episodes each season.

The report also revealed that Philip Silvera, who served as the stunt coordinator of the Netflix series, is also returning for the same duty in Born Again as well as acting as the second unit director.

Aside from Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Elden Henson, and Deborah Ann Woll are all confirmed to return to the series in its new iteration, which will harken back to the gritty tone of the original Netflix show.

While it might be disappointing that the upcoming series will no longer have a super-sized season, it is still encouraging that it will likely have a 13-episode run. Not only it is similar to the Netflix show, but it will be longer than any Disney+ MCU shows that have been released so far.

We should be hearing more news and updates surrounding the production of the series in the coming weeks or months, but it's great to hear now that they are restarting work again.

Marvel Studios and Disney+ have not set a release window yet for Daredevil: Born Again.
