Dandadan is a pretty popular manga both in Japan and internationally, but it has yet to get an anime adaptation. This might change soon, though, as fans expect a Dandadan anime announcement this December.
That’s because it was recently confirmed that Dandadan will get an important announcement at Shueisha’s big event this December. This comes from none other than Shihei Lin, the editor of notable Jump+ titles.
Lin didn’t explicitly mention what the announcement would be. Given the rumors that have been swirling around for months, fans expect this to be the long-awaited anime adaptation.
Dandadan Important Announcement to Be Made at Jump Festa 2024
Shueisha announced back in July that Jump Festa will be back this December. Recently, the event’s complete stage lineup was announced. These include stage times for popular titles like Spy x Family.
Another manga that will take the spotlight at the event is Dandadan, the popular action series by Yukinobu Tatsu. More info was soon shared by the manga’s editor, Shihei Lin, on X (formerly Twitter).
Lin mentioned that an important announcement would be made on December 16. Aside from that, he didn’t really go into specifics about what fans can expect.
By itself, the manga’s stage schedule on December 16 is already notable as it will be the first time that Dandadan will get a special presentation at Jump Festa.
Given that most of the titles showcased at Jump Festa have or will get an anime, fans are already expecting an adaptation to be announced. This lines up with various reports over the past months.

Fans Are Hoping for a Dandadan Anime Announcement in December
Dandadan is currently one of Shonen Jump+’s most popular titles alongside Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, and Kaiju No.8.
As these three titles already have or will get anime shows, Dandadan getting one is all but guaranteed at this point, according to fans. Of course, we’ll still have to wait for the event to happen before we get confirmation.
In the meantime, fans are already discussing which studio will be best suited to animate the series. After all, the manga is noted for its unique art style and incredibly detailed backgrounds.
Some fans think MAPPA will be the studio, though others are concerned if this turns out to be true. That’s because MAPPA already has a lot of titles under its belt.
