Fans may have expected a Kaiju No. 8 release announcement in a major anime event, but that was not the case. Kaiju No. 8 recently got a new English-subtitled trailer that reveals its April 2024 release date.
The new trailer was shared on the Toho animation official YouTube channel. This trailer comes one year after the anime adaptation by Production I.G was made official.
Aside from sharing new footage, this trailer also revealed the first three members of the anime’s voice cast.
Kaiju No. 8 Reveals Three Lead Stars
Starring as the lead character Kafka Hibino is Masaya Fukunishi. While he might not be a veteran VA, Fukunishi has played popular characters like Draken in Tokyo Revengers, as well as Yuji Ohkusu in The First Slam Dunk.
Joining Fukunishi is Wataru Kato. Much like the show’s lead star, Kato is a fairly new voice actor, though he has played characters in some popular titles.
For starters, Kato is the voice of Touka Scott in The Legendary Hero Is Dead! He is also the voice of Marchis Jun Asari in Ao Ashi. Kato will also play the lead role in The 100 Girlfriends anime this Fall.
Rounding out the main cast is Asami Seto who voices Mina Ashiro. It’s fair to say that among the three, Seto is the most experienced, and likely the most popular as well given that she has voiced many iconic roles.
Seto is best known as the voice of Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen and Mai Sakurajima in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai.
She also voices Kyouko Hori in Horimiya, Raphtalia in The Rising of the Shield Hero, and Chihaya Ayase in Chihayafuru.

Kaiju No. 8 English-Subtitled Trailer Reveals April 2024 Release Date
The three VAs can be heard in the new Kaiju No. 8 trailer as it features our best look yet at the upcoming action kaiju anime.
While the previous trailer only showed small snippets, this new trailer features around a minute-and-a-half of new footage that finally shows more action. Plus, it has English subtitles.

Some fans were concerned initially about the characters’ appearances in a previous visual reveal, but this series still has a lot of hype behind it. After all, it’s based on one of Shonen Jump+’s most popular manga.
Kaiju No. 8 will be released in April 2024. For now, there’s no word yet on a specific release date.
