With the events of the Chainsaw Man manga heating up and a Season 2 announcement possibly coming soon, fans of the series are getting lots of content. As a bonus, Viz Media announced that it will release the Chainsaw Man: Buddy Stories light novel spinoff in English soon.

On the publisher’s official Twitter account, it was revealed that the Buddy Stories light novel will be released in English this July. The announcement also came with a reveal of the book’s international cover art.

Given that most of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s works have been released by Viz, it’s no surprise that even this light novel is getting an official international launch.

Chainsaw Man Part 2 is currently serialized on Jump+ in Japan, and luckily for fans all over the world, the series has a simultaneous English release for free on Manga Plus.

Aside from digital availability, Chainsaw Man volumes have gotten physical releases in English, with Volumes 1 to 11 being available.

It’s also confirmed that Volumes 12 and beyond will be released internationally by Viz.

Chainsaw Man isn’t the only series that Viz carries though as the publisher has also released all the volumes of Fujimoto’s earlier work, Fire Punch. Though this manga is published under the Viz Signature line (instead of Shonen Jump).

Because of Fujimoto’s popularity, Viz has also released his notable one-shot works, including Look Back and Goodbye, Eri.

The first volume of the one-shot compilation Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man was also released last January.

Chainsaw Man: Buddy Stories is a light novel that was initially released in Japan back in November 2021, meaning it was released well after the end of Part 1.

While it featured new illustrations from Fujimoto, it was instead written by Sakaku Hishikawa.

Specifically, the novel features four stories, the first being about Power and Denji playing detective.

There’s also a story about Denji, Power, and Aki’s dream trip to Enoshima.

The other two stories include Himeno and Aki’s first assignment together, as well as Quanxi and Kishibe’s relationship back when they were working together as Devil Hunters.

The Buddy Stories light novel spinoff will be released on July 25, 2023, and it is priced at USD 10.99.

Pre-orders for the novel are available now at Amazon. It will also get a digital release version on Amazon Kindle.
