BTS Forest in Nanji Han River Park

BTS Forest is located in Nanji Han River Park in western Seoul. The newly-named forest has three fringe trees and 400 sacred bamboo trees.

According to Melon (via The Korea Herald), the trees planted in the BTS Forest were bought using the money donated by its subscribers.

The project involves having the subscribers select their favorite singer's name on the eco-friendly project's page; from there, 2 percent of the monthly payment is saved as a donation.

Once it reaches 20 million KRW, the amount is given to the Korean Federation for Environmental Movement. The funds are then used to create a forest named after the chosen singer.

For BTS Forest, Melon received more than 20 million KRW from fans in March, making BTS as the first artist whose fandom surpassed the mark.

BTS Shows Power Despite Group Break

While Jin and J-Hope start their military service and the others focus on their individual endeavors, BTS garnered a new milestone as a group.

The Recording Industry Association of Japan confirmed on Tuesday that BTS' mini-album MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA title track Boy With Luv reached 200 million KRW, making it certified double platinum. The track features singer, Halsey.

Boy With Luv became the fourth double platinum song BTS has. It followed Dynamite, Permission to Dance, and Butter in the recognition. Meanwhile, Dynamite already scored a diamond certification, while Permission to Dance and Butter were certified triple platinum.

BTS members have been pursuing their solo careers since the group announced that it would allow the seven members to focus on solo projects until they complete their military service.

"To be clear, they are not on hiatus but will take time to explore some solo projects at this time and remain active in various different formats," the representatives for the band said.

BTS members are expected to complete their duties by 2025.
