Brad Pitt made a one-second cameo appearance as Vanisher, the ill-fated member of the X-Force, in Deadpool 2. It was a huge surprise for many fans when they watched the film in the theater when it was released.

While it was great to see the A-list actor show up in the film even for just one second, some fans were hoping that he would have a significant part instead and play an awesome hero or villain that would banter with Ryan Reynolds.

However, as it turns out, the Oscar-winning actor was originally supposed to play a major part in the sequel.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld revealed that Pitt was originally supposed to play Cable in Deadpool 2 before Josh Brolin eventually got cast.

"I know for 100% fact that was true. They did previews, and David Leitch had a very special relationship doing stunt work with [Pitt]," he said.

"What people don't know is that was very early, early on. So when they knew they weren't going in that direction, they went down several others."

Liefeld went on to mention how Brolin's wife convinced him to read for Cable and talked him into taking on the role.

This is an interesting tidbit about the film since it will make you wonder about how it may have all looked like if Pitt ended up playing Cable, which will be different than what Brolin did although there's also no doubt that he will be great as well knowing his acting talent for decades.

If Pitt got officially cast in the role, it would have become major news since he doesn't usually get involved in a comic book movie franchise and the film would have starred two popular A-listers that would garner a lot of interest from the global audience.

In the end, everything still worked out since Brolin crushed it on playing Cable while Pitt was able to appear even for just a brief moment which became an effective surprise for fans who watched it for the first time.
