Blue Beetle recently made his live-action debut on the big screen and while his standalone outing failed to meet box office expectations, the film was an overall solid watch.
The Xolo Maridueña-led film not only depicted the Scarab hero’s strengths and weaknesses but also what it took for him to become a hero.
Considering that both of them are humans capable of doing great things for humanity thanks to their super suits, can Blue Beetle actually beat Iron Man at his own game?

Blue Beetle vs. Iron Man’s Super Suits
Tony Stark is a multi-billionaire genius who makes his own inventions and weapons for Earth.
After suffering the traumatic experience of getting abducted by Obadiah Stane in his debut film, Stark built his first Iron Man armor to protect himself and get back home.
Since then, Stark has understood the dangers and limitations when it comes to creating his inventions in his lab and started improving his Iron Man suit to protect Earth as a part of the Avengers team.
Unfortunately, what renders Iron Man ‘weak’ compared to Blue Beetle stems from the extent of what weapons and abilities Tony Stark programs his suit to do.
Not to mention, Iron Man’s suits are never made out of Vibranium, the strongest metal in the MCU as of now, so his super suit doesn’t absorb or deflect any attacks it receives from any opponent.
As for Jaime Reyes, his story is a different case. The blue Scarab artifact has a life and mind of its own, with its main goal in mind to conquer Earth, as programmed by its alien creators, the Reach.
Jaime Reyes is essentially not the first to hail the Blue Beetle suit, as there were two inheritors before him, namely, Dan Garrett and Ted Kord.
Similar to Iron Man, though, they managed to improve the Blue Beetle suit over time during their use in spite of not being chosen by the Scarab itself, which makes Jaime (the third blue Scarab hero) the strongest.
That said, when the blue Scarab chooses its symbiote host, its main objective changes — to protect its host from any harm.
What makes Blue Beetle stronger than Iron Man is that the Scarab would do anything to ensure Jaime Reyes doesn’t get harmed and even has annihilation mode in case of emergency countermeasures.
Plus, the suit is bulletproof and can only be destroyed if the opponent’s suit possesses the same material from the Reach.
Additionally, the Blue Beetle suit could conjure up any type of weapon as long as Jaime Reyes imagines it in his mind. This includes any nuclear weapons made from alien tech that could potentially destroy the entire planet.

So, Who Would Win in a Blue Beetle vs. Iron Man Fight?
While it hasn’t happened yet, we can deduct based on the facts that the DC and Marvel Comics presented, as well as their respective cinematic counterparts.
One of the things that Blue Beetle and Iron Man share in common is the fact that their suits protect them.
Of course, the difference is the blue Scarab has a mind of its own, while Stark’s FRIDAY is programmed to do whatever Stark tells it to do.
So, yes, Blue Beetle can indeed beat Iron Man based on the difference of their super suits.
The only thing that could possibly lead to Jaime Reyes’ defeat is if the Blue Beetle suit decided to reboot its systems during the fight, and when it comes to Iron Man’s intelligence in executing his plans against his enemies.
Not to mention, their difference in their battle-fighting experiences. Jaime Reyes is still a kid, after all, who’s just beginning his heroic journey.
