Next month, Blue Beetle will finally arrive in theaters after months of anticipation from fans who are looking forward to seeing the first Latino superhero in the DC franchise and the hero's cinematic debut as well.

Unlike the other DC films that are releasing this year, this one is not widely connected to the DCEU franchise and DC Studios co-chairman James Gunn even revealed recently that the titular character is officially part of the new DCU franchise.

A lot of fans have assumed that the film will be mostly standalone and may not connect to the other DC movies that have been released. However, it looks that might not be the case at all.

Xolo Maridueña Teases the Cameos in Blue Beetle

Speaking recently with TheWrap, Blue Beetle star Xolo Maridueña hinted that there might be more surprise cameos from major DC characters in the upcoming film than we might expect.

As expected, the actor didn't reveal which other characters we might see pop up in the movie.

"I think if you’re a DC fan, there’s going to be more than just one character that you recognize. I can tell you that," he said.

This is certainly an exciting tease for fans since it looks like the film will be referencing other DC projects after all and it is interesting to see which characters was the actor hinting at in his quote.

Since none of the official DCU projects have been shot yet, a good guess is that one of the familiar characters that we have seen in the DCEU is likely to be the surprise cameos and they could potentially show up in the post-credits scenes.

At this point, it's not surprising if it's Wonder Woman who made a cameo appearance in the film since she also showed up for quick moments in the other DCEU movies that were released recently.

The characters from Peacemaker could also appear just like in Shazam! Fury of the Gods where they popped up during the post-credits scene and recruit the hero into the Justice Society of America.

We should be able to find out the answers once we see the film unless the promos will spoil it beforehand.
