The world-famous Korean girl group, BLACKPINK, has been trending lately. After celebrating their seventh anniversary and wrapping up their concert tour, there are rumors that BLACKPINK is splitting up.

This comes after multiple reports that suggest Lisa rejected offers to renew her contract with the group which is currently signed under YG Entertainment. The girls were also seen teary-eyed at their recent anniversary concert.

The rumors that the girls would be splitting up stemmed earlier this year. Addressing these rumors, a clip of Rosé assuring their fans went viral in May 2024.

"thank you for waiting patiently for us & thank you for supporting our music for the past 4 years (Lisa: 7 years) cuz BLACKPINK ISN’T GOING ANYWHERE! we love you so much”

But after failing to renew their contracts in August, the rumors have started once again.

According to the reports, BLACKPINK will be going on an indefinite hiatus after the finale of their world tour, which was held at Geocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on September 16 and 17.

Fans expressed their concern after seeing two girls, Lisa and Jennie, crying at the concert. This prompted the group's followers to write on X (formerly Twitter) that this hinted at a coming farewell from the group.

According to a report from Sports Seoul, Rosé is the only one who renewed her contract with YG Entertainment, the agency that handles BLACKPINK.

Unfortunately, the report says that the other girls will be signing with different labels.

After failing to get all the girls to renew their contracts, YG Entertainment is reportedly negotiating a hybrid contract with the three girls.

The new contract is said to have Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa promote the group for six months every year. This is a similar contract that SM Entertainment has with Donghae, Eunhyuk, and Kyuhyun of the band Super Junior.

As of now, YG Entertainment has responded to the report and said: "Nothing has been decided. We are still negotiating."

Reports say that the negotiation for the adjusted contract is nearing completion.
